Medical Entrance - One Year Regular Program for (XI-Passed/XII Studying Students)
Why to join MCM PMT Classes?
This course commences in first week of April every year and is meant for the students who have just entered XII-Class. This course aims at laying down the fundamentals of Medical Entrance Examinations besides making the CBSE preparation more conceptual and comprehensive. This is accomplished through motivating the students in regard to learning tools, mastering concepts, thinking critically, and solving problems within the specified time limit.
Medical Entrance Exams: A Brief Outline
Most of the entrance tests for Medical Colleges in India are held in the months of April / May / June for the academic year commencing from July / August of the following year. Usually, the syllabus of the entrance test is based on the NCERT courses outline of class XI and XII. In most of the entrance tests, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology and Botany cover major sections. However, some specific entrance tests also include English & Comprehension, Logic & Quantitative Reasoning, General Knowledge/ General Aptitude/ General Ability/ Mental Ability, Current Affairs, Kannada/ Hindi Language Test, Bible Test and Gandhian Ideologies etc. The weightage of the aforementioned subjects vary from exam to exam. Single test is conducted for most of the entrance tests; while some specific tests are conducted in two-stages/ two-days.
In 2015, States voluntarily participating in the AIPMT for admission in the MBBS / BDS courses against seats other than the 15% All India Quota are Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, FMS-Delhi University, AFMC-Pune, BHU-Varanasi and JamiaHamdard-New Delhi. The candidates seeking admission to the institutions in these states, which were earlier admitting based on their State Level Examination, are also advised to fill in the AIPMT - 2015 application form online.
States/ Universities/ Institutions which are NOT clubbed with AIPMT-2015 system are Bihar (BCECE), Uttar Pradesh (UP-CPMT), Uttarakhand (U-PMT), Maharashtra (MH-CET), Goa (GCET), Jharkhand (JCECE), Chhattisgarh (CG-PMT) and Punjab (PMET).
Pattern of some Entrance Exams:
AIPMT: The All India Pre Medical/ Pre Dental Entrance Test (AIPMT) consist of total 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each subject has 45 questions with 4 marks each carrying a total 720 marks. There is also one fourth (1/4) negative marking for each wrong answer. Duration of test is 3 hrs.
AIIMS: In the entrance test of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), 60 questions from each subject – Physics, Chemistry and Biology are asked along with 20 questions from General Knowledge. Out of 200 questions, 120 questions based on MCQs, 60 questions based on A/R type and 20 questions from GK. There are also negative marks 1/3. Duration of entrance exam is 3.5 hrs. JIPMER: Jawaharlal Institute of Post graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) for MBBS entrance exam will consists of 200 single response type Multiple Choice Questions in the subjects of Physics-60Q, Chemistry-60Q, Biology-60Q, Logic & Quantitative Reasoning-10Q and English & Comprehension-10Q. Each correct response shall be awarded 1 mark. There is NO negative marking for wrong answers. Duration of test is 2 ½ hrs.
